Sorry about no postings but nothing has been received to post until now. As you can see, we are approaching what appears to be the final stages of this effort. We do not have an estimate on the dollar amount that will be required to finish this through the September court date but it will be posted as soon as we know. Here is the latest status report. January 14, 2015

Happy New Year everyone. Sorry about the late posting but I have been really busy. The latest status report is now posted for your perusal. Hopefully next month should prove to be interesting as everyone returns their decision on joining the class. You may easily see what the present UC retiree medical benefits are by going the following website:  UC Net

November 6, 2014

At Last!!! The courts have ruled to establish the class. The attorneys are putting together an approved statement announcing the ruling and informing us of the next step … but it does appear that we are finally on our way. We are posting the transcript of the hearing and also the judges ruling establishing the class.

October 5, 2014

The Webmaster has returned, and as you can see our fund raising goal is progressing. Thank you to everyone who has contributed.

August 27, 2014

OK folks, here is the beginning of the fund raising effort. We have received $16,275 for a nice start. Unfortunately we will not be able to update this website again until the middle of October as the Webmaster will not be available and we have no one to back him up. So be patient and updates will start again in October.

August 16, 2014

The latest status report is now out, and is combined with a fundraising letter which explains all our options at this point. Our fundraising goal is $75,000 and I will keep our progress posted here.

Happy reading.

Latest Status Update now on site.

Looks like our email list is now fairly straight. We get a few bounced messages so there is a few names that will be removed but otherwise thanks to all who validated their email.

It appears that if you view our website with the IE browser a PDF file is opened in another tab. If you use Firefox it downloads the file instead. There may be a Firefox option to allow opening a PDF in a new window; we’ll see.

Latest Status Update now on site.

March 12, 2014

Thank you to everyone for helping us get our email lists updated. We should have that done in the next few days. Until that is done things won’t always go to the right place.

The “Request for Volunteers” letter is now posted here on the website under Legal/Court Papers 2 or just click on this link Volunteer Request.

March 4, 2014

There is a new status message posted that has also been emailed to everyone. It is about “Petitioners Notice of Motion and Motion for Class Certification”. The actual dates may be later. The motions will be found under the Legal tab, then Court Papers 2.

We do need volunteers who would be willing to act as backup for the UCLRG officers, especially for Secretary or Treasurer as these positions are presently filled by a husband and wife. An officer unable to fulfill his organizational obligations could seriously hamper our effort. Anyone interested in helping out please contact us at:

UCLRG Legal Defense Fund

Organized and run by volunteers, the UCLRG is attempting to require the University of California to honor its commitment to the retirees of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory by providing the same retirement medical benefits it provides to all other UC retirees.
